Hi all-

This page has scripts for plays, films, or streaming that I have written. They are all free to download. I figure if you can binge watch, you can binge read!

I'll be adding these gradually as I can prepare them properly.

If you like something, let me know.

Enjoy!

5) A Park Bench Chapter One - The Alien

This is a 10-minute play that was published in the 2024 edition of The Tusculum Review by Tusculum University. The play was first produced as part of the 2016 Pulp FRiction Play Festival in Nashville. I'm very proud of it. NOTE - This is a stage adaptation of the first episode of my web series, A Park Bench, which is posted below in its entirety.

4) FIRST WORLD
Chapter One: Just Go On (Pilot)

This is the pilot for a half-hour episodic series. It's about a teenage couple who are separated into parallel universes as a result of a horrific accident. They will spend the series trying to find their way back to each other. But did what each remembers really happen? And if it did, does the other still remember...or care?

3) "The Mome Raths" (A short play)

This is a ten-minute play (actually it's shorter than that) that was first produced in 2016 at the 2nd annual Pulp FRiction Ten-Minute Play Festival in Nashville, which I produced for three years as an add-on to the Proto-Pulp Book Show in September. It was fantastically successful from my point of view. We had a great director and a great cast every year. We ran 4 short plays in repertory outside repeating at the top of each hour from 1PM to 4PM, ending a little before 5. We did the whole program four times through. People could come at any time and stay for all four plays. We passed a bucket for the artists. We had at least 100 people drop by each year. We were pretty popular!

"The Mome Raths" was also produced as a staged reading in 2019 by The Topanga Actors Company in Topanga, California.

The title of the play comes, of course, from "The Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll. The characters and the story come from one of those strange places we dip into and out of once in a while. I just happened to capture one of those moments.

2) "Reaching Out" (A Short Film Script)

The idea for REACHING OUT came from the story of a friend of mine in Pullman, Washington. She had an encounter like this after the sudden death of her husband. I, of course, invented all the details, but I hope I captured the heart of what she told me. It's a beautiful story.

REACHING OUT is very short, only 9 pages, and was included in the 2019 issue of the Santa Fe Literary Review. Check out the whole issue:  https://issuu.com/sfcc_pubs/docs/sflr_2019

1) A Park Bench (A Web Series)

A PARK BENCH is a script for a web series consisting of 22 ten-minute episodes. The story centers on an old southern woman who lives in a nursing home and the young Englishman she pays to take her to the park to smoke. Oh yes, he's also an alien in love with an earth girl and desperately wants to become human. He believes she can teach him. She doesn't feel human anymore, so doesn't see what the big deal is.

A lot happens over the course of the season, and almost all of it happens from their place on a bench in the park where they go for her to smoke and watch the children play. AND---meet an amazing array of humans: evidence that being an alien doesn't actually stand out at all.
