Hi all-

Yesterday evening John Peppard and I, along with Lizann and Mary, joined a song sharing event at the home of journalist Alan Cackett in Maidstone, Kent, in the UK. It never surprises me because I've come to expect it, but the level of musicianship and character present in the folk and country music scene in the UK is second to none. 

This music is now well into its third generation here, as it is in many places around the world. The roots stretch back to Scotland and Ireland but have been cross pollinated so many ways that it's truly a world music. As I have said before, they call it country music but they don't say what country!

I'm proud to be part of it.
